Set it up in two minutes

ChatGPT — Developer mode
  1. You need a ChatGPT account and an active Hookami account. If Developer mode is unavailable, ask your workspace admin to enable it.
  2. Open ChatGPT Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Open Settings → Plugins → Browse plugins and press the + button.
  4. Complete New Plugin: icon — download it below; name Hookami; description Live YouTube trend intelligence and creator strategy from Sensei by Hookami.; connection Server URL with the address above; authentication OAuth. Do not change Advanced OAuth settings.
  5. Accept the custom MCP warning and press Create.
  6. Sign in to Hookami and press Allow.
  7. Start a new chat and type @Hookami, or select Hookami from the + menu, then ask normally — for example: What's trending in gaming right now?

Use Hookami in a chat. Start a new chat and type @Hookami, then select Hookami from the list. You can also press + and choose Hookami — look under More if it is not immediately visible. Once Hookami appears beside your prompt, ask normally. ChatGPT may choose installed plugins automatically when relevant, but @Hookami makes sure this request uses Hookami.
Claude (claude.ai & Desktop)
  1. You'll need an active Hookami account. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan — Claude's free plan allows one custom connector.
  2. In claude.ai — or the Claude Desktop app, same place — open Customize → Connectors, press +, and choose Add custom connector.
  3. Give it a name and paste the connector address above. Leave the optional OAuth fields exactly as they are.
  4. Click Add — a Hookami window opens. Sign in if asked, then press Allow.
  5. Open a new chat, switch the connector on in the tools menu, and just talk — the connector follows you to claude.ai, Desktop, and mobile.
Claude Code & CLI tools for developers
  1. Create a developer token in Settings → Integrations.
  2. Register the connector:claude mcp add --transport http hookami https://mcp.hookami.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer hk_mcp_YOUR_TOKEN"
  3. Confirm with claude mcp list, then ask away.

Security, in plain words

  • You approve access once through OAuth — your Hookami password never touches ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Every tool is read-only. The connector can research for you; it can never change your account or content.
  • Disconnect any time from the host app. Details in our Privacy Policy.

Questions, answered

Is Hookami Anywhere a YouTube MCP server?

Yes. Hookami Anywhere is a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server focused on YouTube intelligence — trending keywords, trend lifecycles, outlier video discovery, video examples with performance data, and live news — served from Hookami's tracked creator dataset to ChatGPT, Claude, or any MCP-compatible client.

Which plan do I need?

Any active Hookami account can connect — including free accounts. Free includes the always-open radar (trending, keyword stats, fresh news) plus 3 Deep Dives per 30-day window and one limited preview; paid plans get unlimited access to every tool.

Which apps does it work with?

ChatGPT (with Developer mode), claude.ai, the Claude Desktop app, Claude Code, and any MCP-compatible client. Add it once in claude.ai and it follows you to Desktop and mobile automatically.

Is my data safe?

You sign in with your Hookami account through OAuth — there are no passwords or tokens to paste into the chat app. Every tool is read-only: the connector can look things up for you, it can never change anything in your workspace. Disconnect it any time from the host app’s settings; developer tokens can be revoked in Hookami under Settings → Integrations.

What does the AI see?

Only the results of the tools it calls for your question — trends, keywords, video examples, news. Your conversation with ChatGPT or Claude is governed by their terms, not ours; Hookami only sees the tool requests.
